This part of my project will collect a large scale quantitative questionnaire that will look at how teachers of Arabic deal with Arabic varieties, and whether they adapt their teaching approach depending on the type of students (e.g. heritage/non-heritage…) or the context in which they teach (religious/non-religious). In addition, the survey includes questions about motivations, attitudes, and struggles (if any) experienced by both teachers and students.
If you an Arabic teacher in any context I would love for you to complete the questionnaire! Doesn’t matter if you teach children/adults, native/non-native speakers, heritage/non-heritage speakers, currently/previously taught Arabic, for religious/for other purposes.
The survey will take about 20 minutes to complete. It is in Arabic & English and you can choose to complete it in either language.
Please also share this link with other Arabic teachers and organisations in your networks.
I will provide links to results from my research here as my project progresses.
